Purpose

It Is Our Purpose at Sterling Meadows to Continually Operate Under Six-Core Standards That Promote an Exceptional Lifestyle, Exceptional Choices, Accompanied by Exceptional Quality Alongside Exceptional Care Staff.

The following Standards reflect our Goals to set the standards by which we Operate at those Levels at a Great Value.

Standard 1: Excellence in Service and Environment

1.) We are determined to surpass the minimum standards of state-assisted living requirements.

2.) Staff will provide Residents with exceptional residential living experience, from the finish in the living quarters to the quality of meals.

3.) We will provide choices from menus and activities to community outings to continually promote an exceptional array of choices.

4.)  With 24-hour staffing assistance and access to services, family members know their loved one always have exceptional personal contact.

Standard 2: Individual Choice and Safety

1.)  Sterling Meadows is a secure community, staffed with qualified personnel 24 hours a day. The facility is also secured by a specially designed security system, “Silent ”

2.)  Our Residents have a choice of floor plans that include studio apartments, or one-bedroom suites.

3.)  All apartments have an individually controlled heat and air conditioning unit for personal comfort.

4.)  Each floor has a laundry area for Residents to utilize, or personal laundry services are provided upon request for an additional charge.

5.)  Each living space is designed with an emergency call system for added peace of mind.

6.)  Residents can visit with friends and family in the great room, enjoy planned daily activities, tending to the garden, or just relaxing in their room.

7.)  Residents can enjoy three meals a day in the dining room, private living quarters, or a private dining room for special occasions.

8.)  Employees are carefully assessed and selected to ensure safety. Prior to employment, individuals are required to complete a criminal background check, drug test, and Kentucky Nurse’s Aide Abuse Registry.

9.)  Employees are required to attend extensive training prior to employment and annually complete in-service training. Trainings include, but are not limited to:

  • Clients Rights
  • Community Policy
  • Adult First Aid
  • CPR
  • Adult Abuse & Neglect
  • Alzheimer Disease & Dementia Care
  • Emergency Procedures
  • Aging Process
  • Activities of Daily Living
  • Assistance with Self-Administered Medication

10.)  Sterling Meadows is required by the Kentucky Department for Aging and    Independent Living to be certified as an Assisted Living Community with biennial reviews completed by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services to assure compliance to KRS 194A.700-194A.729.

Standard 3: Health and Personal Dignity

1.) Provide an exceptional living environment for each Resident so they can live comfortably, with respect to privacy and rights.

2.) Before becoming a Resident at Sterling Meadows, a qualified staff member will complete an assessment with the prospective resident and their family to ensure that physical, mental, and emotional needs will be met in our facility.

3.) With Sterling Health Solutions residing in part of our facility, Residents can choose to enjoy the convenience of physician services if they desire without leaving the campus.

4.) Daily social events and activities are available to everyone living at Sterling Meadows. These may include but are not limited to:

Community outings

    • Golfing
    • Visits to local Art Center
    • Gardening
    • Woodworking
    • Cooking
    • Crochet/knitting/quilting classes
    • Computer classes

5.) Community service projects are available for members to participate in such as mentoring programs for local school children, backpack food assistance programs, and more.

6.) Sterling Meadows will provide Residents with an on-site salon, spa, and exercise area.

7.) Additional services for care can be purchased from Sterling Meadows when available, or can be contacted privately by the member or family to assure that the individual receives all health services necessary:

  • Rehabilitation services
  • Home Health
  • Hospice Care

Standard 4: Community and Belonging

1.) Sterling Meadows encourages and promotes all Residents to maintain involvement in their community, with family and friends as much as the individual desires.

2.) We are an open community that promotes positive and supportive relationships.

3.) Sterling Meadows staff respects the confidentiality of the Residents and respect the individual’s right to self-determination.

4.) Our facility is equipped to provide services that welcome and encourage fellowship.

5.) Transportation to community events, local businesses, churches, or to visit family and/or friends is available.

6.) Sterling Meadows has several areas that can be used for hosting small events for Residents and their families. We will always do our best to try and accommodate all such requests.

Standard 5: Promoting Culture and the Arts

1.) The diversity of each community member in relation to their ethnicity, culture, community, language, faith, spirituality, and personal values will be promoted and supported.

2.) As one of our standard activities, each Resident can complete a “life book” that preserves the memory of their heritage, family lineage, and culture if they so desire.

3.) Sterling Meadows staff will work closely with various art and music groups, as well as relevant speakers to provide education and entertainment to the Residents.

Standard 6: Promoting Skills for Longevity and Independence

1.) Residents are encouraged to continue caring for themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually.

2.) Individuals are given the opportunity to continue in activities of daily living that provide self-care.

3.) Residents are provided with assistance in these areas, as needed.

4.) Various educational opportunities from nutritional health to heart health, to those that require critical thinking and memory recall, are available.
